Well Being At Home

We urgently need volunteers for this service

Well-Being at Home is a service providing support for people who may be lonely, isolated or housebound due to old age, disability, mental distress or through being a carer. Through this support, our aim is to help clients stay living in their own home for as long as possible.

Individuals may refer themselves for this service, or be referred by family or friends, social care services, health visitors or voluntary organisations. We will then visit to discuss the support required.

We aim to match our clients with a Home Visitor who shares common interests, and we will accompany them on their first visit. The Home Visitor will then visit for about an hour, once a week or so, on an ongoing basis. They can offer social support, and access to information and services.

All Home Visitors are good listeners, and are CRB (police) checked, and they also receive ongoing support from the Home Visitor Service Coordinator. The service is free to receive and we will respect all areas of confidentiality.

It is important to note that this is not a "sitting service" for respite and should you require information about this you should contact:

Crossroads on 01233 663198

We regret that due to the high demand for the Well-being at Home service, there can be an initial wait for a suitable Home Visitior to be assigned, but this should not deter requests for the service. The sooner a request is received, the sooner we can identify someone suitable to visit.

This service is available to people living in the Ashford and Shepway Districts and local Well-being at Home Service Coordinator's details are listed below.
