Volunteering Ashford run a Community Car Scheme, providing transport for people who have difficulty using public transport.  The Car Scheme is there to provide transport to enable you to get to those places that help you remain independent.

 

The volunteers give their time and support for free but there is a charge, payable to the driver, which goes towards their mileage costs.

 

The current charge is 40p per mile (minimum charge £4 per journey) and an administrative charge of £2 per booking which helps towards our rent, insurance and telephone costs.

Our services is run by volunteers, both the person who takes your booking and the driver who drives you where you want to go.


The driver will wait for you for a reasonable time (up to 1 hour) and of course there is always room in the car for a friend, family member or carer at no extra cost.

 




 

If you have a

Blue Disabled Badge

please bring this with you to assist the driver.



 

 

 

We would ask that you try to give 3 or 4 working days notice when booking a journey, and at least 24 hours notice should you need to cancel, by calling us during office hours.

 

If we are unable to take you for whatever reason we will contact you.


 Please be patient and remember that the office staff and drivers are all volunteers giving their time for free to help you.
