What will my interview be like?
At All Things Volunteering we offer a drop-in service (you do not need to make an appointment). Please check our opening times. One of our trained staff will ask you for some details in order to register you on our database. We will not ask for ID, references or a CV (although this may be required once you are put in contact with an organisation for whom you wish to volunteer). We will talk through your interests and aspirations / aims and try to match you to suitable opportunities. All interviews are on a one to one basis with our trained staff, and we can see up to two interviewees at any one time. Should you wish to make an appointment to see a particular advisor, please contact us on 01233 660421 / email admin@volunteering-ashford.org .
If you do not live in the Ashford & Tenterden districts you may find it beneficial to contact your local Volunteer Centre. Please visit our Partner's Page for contacts. Need Volunteers?
If your organisation needs volunteers, we will advertise the vacancies for you, and discuss your roles when people register to volunteer. There is no charge for this service.
We aim to support, promote and develop volunteering opportunities within the East Kent area. If you are:
- a local charity
- a voluntary or community group or not for profit organisation,
- a Public Sector organisation or Private Sector organisation,
We can help you find volunteers and support you with their placements.
You will be asked to complete a registration form.
Volunteer Quote:
"After visiting the welcoming volunteering shop in Ashford, I decided to undertake victim support training to become an accredited volunteer to help others after crime which I am passionate about. The training was very informative. It ranged from learning about the impact of crime, support skills to safeguarding adults helping to build resilience and children and working with children (and more!). I found it was a great mix of talks blended with experimental learning to practice using the skills you’ve learnt with case studies, all in a very friendly environment. I am now working as an accredited community victim support volunteer which is very interesting and rewarding. It is helping me to enhance my support skills which will be useful for my future training to become a chartered psychologist. It is great to feel I’ve made a difference each day and volunteering for victim support can do this."
